Free Kids Tennis Initiative (FKTI) is a social project-aimed primarily at young people – which integrates itself playful, nutritional, educational and sport.
FKTI is based on discipline of Tennis, revised in parts so as to facilitate its dissemination as sport: in the rules of the game, in the characteristics of the installations, in the manner of teaching and training (adaptation developed with theoretical and practical study conducted by, among others, masters of Italian Tennis Federane).
FKTI is based on innovative stationary facilities in public areas – basically gardens and parks-which become real poles of socialization. And on some complementary initiatives aimed at spreading the sport of tennis (and a series of “good habits) starting from the children’s education.
Some collateral initiatives: ● spread tennis in schools, in which are installed stationary structures, or organize events (whit portable systems), and offer training courses for teachers ● social initiative: collection “differentiated” of balls used at the Tennis clubs.
Relevant is the integration of the activities of the initiative with a dedicated Social Web Network with which you can, among other things: getting “friends of racket” with which to organize games and workouts, book works, record their video gaming (FKTI plants are equipped with Webcams used both to monitor or to record videos of the game), participate in a flea market of sports equipment, book lessons, organize and see FKTI circuit tournaments (WebCam system can be used for broadcast of events and tournaments of the circuit), etc. When it comes to younger boys, the site presents an interface dedicated to parents, who can, for example, plan for alternate in the management of children, exchange information with the masters, etc.
The initiative is intended to be disseminated internationally. There is the possibility of creating ad hoc Association or Federation.
Please note, in the media, Obama’s initiative to create, within the grounds of the White House, an event targeted mini-tennis game, according to the First Lady, to “bring more young people to the sport.”
Why tennis?
Tennis offers peculiar pedagogical features that lead children to develop values and personal qualities that other sports practiced today in school-age children are unable to induce (Tennis, most of the sports currently spread over the territory – team sports – educates the child to develop a sense of responsibility towards the adversities of life, and develops in him the motivation to a strong personal commitment in achieving goals).
In summary, the peculiar qualities of the tennis courts are, in competitive and educational areas:
● Game/Competition: developing the capacity to manage in the best way, on their own, different situations (win or lose) from the mental and physical point of view (without attributing blame to others).
● Teaching: developing the capacity to perceive, in addition to the quality of their emotions, the nuances of the functionality of the body (the need to learn the movements that need to be done with a precision in Tennis, not required in other sports, leads the student to develop a particular self awareness).
