We have understood basic playground rules since childhood: (1) don’t hit other people, and (2) don’t steal their stuff. As adults, we strive to adhere to these rules, even though we’ve moved beyond the playground and into a bigger, more complex world.
But what happens when we break those rules? Are there principles working as we interact that make playground rules the backbone of personal relationships and a civil society? Everyone knows how gravity works, but do the actions of individuals have similar cause-and-effect relationships that are just as predictable?
The Foundation for Harmony and Prosperity invites you to join graduate students David and Alice in The Conversation as they debate, banter and flirt their way to realizing how we unknowingly break the playground rules in an unexpected aspect of our lives.
